2014 Workshop Participants Guide

Schedule:

Course check-in time is 4:00PM on Sunday November 9^th. The course will run to approximately 9PM each evening. The course will end on Friday November 14^th at approximately noon. Students are expected to attend the entire course.

Meals:

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided on site every day. We will provide options for vegetarians but unfortunately it will not be possible to accommodate any specific nutritional preferences beyond this.

RESERVATIONS PRODEDURES
Individual attendees will make their own reservations directly with the Hotel Reservations Department at (800) 237-5211. Please refer to the Scripps ISCB Workshop when making reservations. You may also book your room online at http://www.ljshoreshotel.com by referring to ISCB and our group code is ISCB2014. You must enter this information for our group rate prices.
When calling for reservations, an American Express, Visa, Diner’s Club, Master Card, Discover or Carte Blanche credit card number with the expiration date will be required to guarantee the reservation. Reservations and deposits received after the cut-off date 10-10-2014 will be required to guarantee the reservation. Reservations and deposits received after the cut-off date will be confirmed on a space available basis at published rates.

Transportation from the airport to the The La Jolla Shores:

Taxi cab fares are approximately $50-60 from Lindberg Field (San Diego Airport) to the Delmar Inn. Shuttle services are also available for approximately $30. The distance from the airport to the hotel is 13 miles.

Transportation between The La Jolla Shores and The Scripps Research Institute:

A bus will be provided to take conference attendees to and from The La Jolla Shores each day. On Sunday, November 9th the bus will depart The La Jolla Shores at 3:30 P.M. and return at 9:00 P.M. All other days the bus will depart the hotel at 7:30 A.M. and return at 9:00 P.M. The hotel is approximately 3.5 miles from The Auditorium.

Parking:

For those with cars, limited number of visitor parking spaces are available in Lot 4.

Clothing

San Diego weather at this time of year is typically in the 70s F during the day and can get into the 50s F at night. Please bring a sweater or light jacket as the meals will be served outside when possible.

BadgeScan

A new form of contact information sharing and lead collection will be available for the NRAMM Workshop this year. Your name badge will include a QR code encoded with your name, email and phone number. You will also receive a sticker containing your code to place next to your poster, if you have one. The code can be read using a mobile app called BadgeScan^TM, which is available in the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.

BadgeScan allows you to:

(1) rapidly collect contact information via scanning QR codes.
(2) take and save notes for each contact.
(3) share individual contacts between devices.
(4) export contacts via email as a spreadsheet.
(4) create and launch customized surveys.
(5) create your own QR badge on the BadgeScan App to rapidly share your information with anyone who also has BadgeScan.

The app does NOT require a network connection (except for use of the survey element).
The app is completely FREE. No in-app purchase ever required for full functionality.
All contact info is stored on your phone, not on a server.
