“The Switch to Python for the Next Generation of Leginon”

The Leginon automated TEM system developed by AMI is currently undergoing a major transformation. This next generation Leginon will be written in the Python programming language. This forum will cover the reasons for this switch and introduce the basics of Python programming, with an emphasis on how it differs from Leginon’s current scripting language, Tcl/Tk.
