“Introduction to the National Library of Medecine Insight egmentation and Registration Toolkit”

Yuanxin Zhu, Staff Scientist – Automated Molecular Imaging Group

The National Library of Medicine Insight Segmentation and Registration Toolkit (ITK) is an open-source software system to support the Visible Human Project.  Currently under active development, ITK employs leading-edge segmentation and registration algorithms in two, three, and more dimensions.  It was developed by six principal organizations, three commercial and three academic.  Although ITK is large and complex, it is designed to be easy to use once you learn about its basic object-oriented and implementation methodology.  This talk is aimed at giving you a quick ITK tutorial, to familiarize you with the important algorithms and data representations found throughout the toolkit, using a set of examples.
