Automated cryoEM data acquisition and analysis of 284742 particles of GroEL.

The figure shows a montage of individual GroEL cryoEM images that have been colored by metadata. The hue of a particle is given by the recorded ice thickness and the saturation is given by the confidence of the CTF estimation. Thus the “best” particles are the most visible, and the “worse” a particular particle is, the more colored it is. Overlaid on top of the background is a view of our highest-resolution GroEL reconstruction with a GroEL crystal structure fit to the EM density.
